What are you Reading?
I read each of these books at the same time and they complimented each other well as they confronted death.
We Burned So Bright was not your typical book by TJ Klune. Don and Rodney are an elderly married couple making their last trip in their RV, as a black hole gets closer to the earth and is tearing everything apart. They have one last mission to accomplish, which I figured out a lot earlier than it is revealed. The characters they encounter bring a lot of flavor to the story and TJ did a wonderful job crafting them since he was making this more like a novella. This was a wonderful book and makes life richer and makes you question what would happen if the planet were destroyed.
Insane for the Light by Ronald Rolheiser is more of a theological/spiritual book. I picked it up because he wrote The Holy Longing, which I thought was splendid, I picked it up and started reading it not knowing what it was about, though the title gives you an inkling. Yes, this book is about aging and death and sits a little different when one has an incurable disease. He uses many resources but counts mostly on Jesus, Henri Nouwen, and John of the Cross, foe their views. Now onto the next books. I have started a book by Ram Dass and one on the World Cup. if you have recommendations send them my way.
