Book Review
The Bones Beneath My Skin
This Pride Month I have been reading books by LGBTQ+ authors. T.J. Klune keeps up his incredible writing skills with this book, although he wrote it nearly a decade ago and according to the acknowledgements he was too “weird.” Thank goodness for “weird,” and this particular book. It is just now being published, and I am glad he did. Of course, he is well known for writing, The House in the Cerulean Sea.
Nate encounters Alex and Art in his hopes to get away after the tragic death of his parents and loss of his journalism job. His cabin has some surprise visitors when he returns is his attempt to find solitude. Nate begins an impromptu road trip with his surprise visitors. Eventually we find out who theses surprise visitors are, that is Alex and Artemis Darth Vader. There is even some romance thrown in the mix as sexual tension brews between Alex and Nate. It makes it that much more intriguing, wondering if they will end up together.
